Gov. Cuomo leads delegation to Puerto Rico
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has lead a delegation to Puerto Rico, and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. is a part of it.
The group, which also includes City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, the state attorney general and the health commissioner, arrived on the island last night.
The visit comes after Puerto Rico's governor invited Cuomo to discuss the island's health care and economic crisis.
Cuomo says the people of New York have a strong connection with those in Puerto Rico.
"There are more Puerto Ricans in New York than any place outside of the island -- 1 million Puerto Ricans," he says. "We have that connection. As goes Puerto Rico, so goes New York. It is just a function of the connection with the population."
