More than 40 NYPD officers graduated from the Emergency Service Unit’s specialized training school Wednesday.
The graduation ceremony was held at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.
During the ceremony, the group demonstrated their skills, including how to rescue people trapped in cars, as well as rescuing people using an NYPD helicopter.
The group also demonstrated how they respond to situations like police shootouts.
The goal of the demonstration was to give the graduates’ family, friends and the public a glimpse into what they do as part of the Emergency Service Unit.
All of the graduating officers will begin their new roles Thursday morning.
