Bedford Park is slated to receive a new affordable, supportive and green housing development.
Developers broke ground on Jerome Avenue Thursday on what will be called the Bedford Green House.
The 13-story building will house more than 160 people. Project Renewal, an anti-homelessness nonprofit, is heading the effort.
It will include a rooftop greenhouse for residents to raise fish and produce. It will include an urban farm and host healthy cooking classes.
Construction is expected to run through the end of 2019.
