Homeowners claim that neighbor's properties are hazardous
A group of homeowners in Woodlawn say their neighbor's three properties are not only eyesores, they are also safety hazards.
The properties are located on East 236th Street.
Neighbors say the backyards of three houses on the street have had debris and clutter for years.
According to the city's Department of Finance, Robert Millo owns all three homes.
"It's cluttered with junk and various items," says neighbor John Murphy. "It's a health and safety issue with West Nile. We have elderly people in Woodlawn. The situation needs to be taken care of. It needs to be taken out of his hands because it's been going on for 20 years."
The homeowner did not want to speak on camera. He says he is in the process of cleaning the properties.
Neighbors say they fear he won't get the job done without intervention from the city.
