A lottery system for affordable housing units in Tremont just got underway.
Construction is in its final stages for 255 affordable apartments located at 4215 Park Ave. in the heart of the busy shopping district. The 12-story complex boasts 40,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground level, and each unit has state-of-the-art appliances as well as scenic views.
The apartments are geared toward families and individuals with wages starting at $30,000. The price of an apartment starts at $822 a month for a studio.
The complex is part of the Tremont Renaissance, a joint effort between Mastermind Development and the city's Housing Preservation and Development department. Additional amenities, such as a rooftop supermarket, sun promenade, fitness center and a play area for kids, are also in the works.
Families chosen through the lottery can expect to move into their new space sometime in the fall.
