Hundreds attend job fair at Bronx County Courthouse
Hundreds of Bronx residents hoping to get hired attended a job fair Tuesday at the Bronx County Courthouse.
The line stretched the entire length of the plaza and its perimeter. Some people even arrived two hours early to get a spot at the front of the line.
More than 25 companies, all looking to hire, were featured at the job fair.
Compared to other counties, the Bronx has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 7.5 percent.
"I haven't worked since 2009," said Ratford Fulton, one of the job fair attendees. "I haven't had a full-time job since 2009 because it's hard out there."
Residents say job fairs like this one help them to connect directly to potential employers.
