Congregants in Hunts Point are preparing for the possibly inevitable closure of their church at its current spot.
New Season Christian Center is likely closing on Southern Boulevard in March, but members are doing what they can to raise money to find a new location.
Senior Pastor Philip Bonano says the costs of operations have become too much. Organizers say they rely on donations, which means it's sometimes difficult to pay rent by the beginning of the month.
"Everything has gone up so much that it's been so difficult for us to keep up as a church with the costs and demands of doing ministry here," says Bonano.
New Season has been in its location for 14 years. Organizers say the church will remain in the South Bronx and have launched a GoFundMe page to keep the lights on until they have to move out.
