Drive-through testing for the coronavirus at Jacobi Medical Center is helping to reduce the number of people in the emergency rooms. It is making it easier for people to keep a safe distance, while also getting the medical attention they need.
Once patients have an appointment, they are greeted by medical staff for information. Later, a doctor administers the test before sending it out for results. Tests are constantly being sent out for results and usually take about 48 hours to receive results.

For the test, a doctor takes a swab and sticks it into the patient's nasal cavity. Patients are then given information on how to care for themselves at home while in quarantine unless they need more serious medical attention.
However, medical officials are urging people to call 311 before getting into their vehicles and heading toward any testing sites.
