Jewish residents celebrate Hanukkah
Jewish people around the world celebrated Sunday to mark the first night of Hanukkah, the eight-day celebration also called the Festival of Lights.
In Riverdale, residents celebrated by lighting what is possibly the biggest menorah in the borough.
Every Hanukkah, Jews around the world light the branches of the menorah to symbolize the eternal flame that lasted for eight days at the temple of Jerusalem -- a triumph of light over dark.
Riverdale residents also celebrated with music, food and dancing. They say it's great seeing the whole community come together.
