Knicks player Early shot after leaving club
New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early was shot while leaving a strip club in Queens early Wednesday morning.
Early was robbed of two gold chains by as many as six men before being shot in the right kneecap. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The backup guard was not at the Knicks' training facility Wednesday, but teammate Carmelo Anthony addressed the media. He said that a situation like this was much more important than basketball.
Early was born in the Bronx and lived there until age 14.
