The creator of La Borinqueña and DC Comics has paired up to collaborate on an anthology to benefit hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez say he's hoping to raise awareness and inspire people to make a difference.
His original character, a Puerto Rican heroine named La Borinqueña, fights alongside iconic DC comic superheroes like Wonder Woman, Batman, and the Flash, for the betterment of the island.
Rodriguez says 100 percent of the proceeds of the 200 page anthology will go to different charities like the Brooklyn-based nonprofit El Puente, which supplies food and clothing to Puerto Rico.
La Borinqueña was originally created prior to Hurricane Maria to bring awareness of Puerto Rico's financial crisis, Rodriguez says.
The anthology is called "Ricanstruction: Reminiscing and Rebuilding Puerto Rico" and is expected to go on sale May 23.
