Lengthy traffic light testing patience of Hunts Point residents
Some residents say that a traffic light at a busy Hunts Point intersection takes too long to change and forces them to jaywalk.
Pedestrians and bicyclists say the lengthy light is at the bike lane at the intersection of Whitlock Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard.
News 12 timed the traffic light and stopped at five minutes after the light apparently failed to give cyclists the right of way.
The New York City Department of Transportation says that to date, it hasn't received any complaints about the intersection but says it plans to inspect all four crossing signals near the intersection to ensure they are working properly.
