A new complex designed to shelter homeless LGBT youths officially opened Tuesday in Bedford Park. True Colors contains 30 apartments equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and granite countertops.

LGBT youth housing complex opens in Bedford Park
A new complex designed to shelter homeless LGBT youths officially opened Tuesday in Bedford Park.
True Colors contains 30 apartments equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and granite countertops. It's the second of its kind in New York, but the first in the Bronx.
Organizers bill the units as a safe space for the youths it aims to help.
There's no limit on the length of stay for residents, and rent is based on income.
Singer Cyndi Lauper helped kick off the grand opening.
