An iconic bakery is expanding its business to include a fresh juice bar, and Bronx residents are rejoicing.
Lloyd's Carrot Cake has expanded to include Joosed by Lloyd. The owners celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday.
Lloyd's Carrot Cake has two branches open in the city. The owners say they decided to add juice to the menu to celebrate their Riverdale location being open for 30 years.
The owners handed out samples of the juices featured on the menu. Some unique choices include a Lloyd's carrot shake, inspired by the cakes that made the bakery famous.
Lloyd's Carrot Cake supports the Van Cortland Track Club and says the club's healthy lifestyle is what inspired the addition of the juice bar.
Founder Lloyd Adams passed away eight years ago but the family plans on keeping his memory alive by producing carrot cakes and juice for the community.
