Friends and family said their final farewell to Tyriiq Seward Wednesday, who was shot and killed last week in Spring Valley.
Seward was killed on Memorial Day, one month before his high school graduation. Since then, no arrests have been made and police have not yet released any new information on the case.
“At this point we need to come together, we need to stop burying our youth. This is our future, what will take our country to greater heights,” said Samuel Lamb, a community activist.
The family says they want police to put out a reward for information that leads to an arrest. Village leaders are urging neighbors to not remain silent.
News 12 has asked Spring Valley police if a reward is something they are considering and is still waiting for a response.
“If you see something, say something. There's somebody out there who knows the truth -- they need to come out and tell their story,” said Eudson Tyson Francois, a village trustee with Spring Valley.
