Male Breast Cancer Awareness week marked
This week marks Male Breast Cancer Awareness week.
Statistics show one percent of men contract the disease each year.
Michael Singer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, underwent a mastectomy, and two years later said he was compelled to empower other men like him.
"They don't think they have breasts, but they do have breasts too. If we can get the word out to have them check themselves regularly..." he says.
Singer says that right now, there are 43 states that recognize the week between the Oct. 18-24.
He's hoping all states will join the mission.
