A man and a woman were found shot dead inside of an SUV in Brooklyn early Friday morning, according to police.
Police say they responded to a 911 call of two people shot near 865 Cleveland St. around 4:45 a.m.
Once on scene, investigators discovered a 27-year-old Devon Hannibal in the driver's seat of a red-colored Dodge Durango and 23-year-old Christina Stubbs in the passenger seat. They were both shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says the two victims were approached by a man who pulled out a gun and began firing shots into the windows of the vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene.
Both victims were at a club called Linden Hall prior to the shooting.
"We spoke to one of the security agents there. He says there was no problems prior to that. Very broad street, there's a lot of cameras here. We'll know more as the morning pushes forward," says Boyce.
Police believe Hannibal was the target of the shooting.
Boyce says it appears the weapon used was a 9mm handgun.
Police are still searching for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
