Man attacked with machete outside restaurant
A man is recovering in the hospital after police say he was brutally attacked with a machete at a Bronx restaurant.
Police say the victim got into an argument with another man at El Carboncito Restaurant, located at 1524 Watson Ave., at around 1:15 a.m Saturday.
Police are unsure what sparked the dispute, but say the suspect pulled out a machete from under an umbrella and proceeded to stab the victim five times -- three times in the right arm, once in the left shoulder and once in the lower back. They say he then put the weapon back under the umbrella and fled the scene.
Police say the victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and between the ages of 20 and 25. He was seen on surveillance video wearing a white T-shirt and Yankees hat.
