A tractor-trailer container is ready to head to Texas after it was filled with donations in Manasquan to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Volunteers for the project took over the Manasquan Elks Lodge parking lot Saturday, and helped pack the container from top to bottom.
Items ranging from diapers, cleaning products, clothing and more will take off for Georgetown, Texas, on Tuesday.
More than 250 volunteers were thrilled with the giving effort – they opened at 10 a.m., and the trailer was filled by 2 p.m.
There were so many items donated that organizers had to call on a box truck to take donations to another collection happening in Belmar.
