Manhattan College students make mock border wall
A group of students at Manhattan College built a mock wall depicting the U.S.-Mexico border to spark a local debate on immigration issues.
A chain link fence on campus is meant to symbolize a division between the countries, according to Brianna Del Santo, a student at the school.
"We want to raise awareness of the destruction and the abuse and neglect that people at borders are facing," she explains.
Organizers say the display spurred the conversation they were hoping it would, but not without incident. Someone filmed a video at the display with a Donald Trump doll to reference the real Trump's call to build an actual wall along the border.
The move coincides with Pope Francis' visit to the border.
