Firefighters battled a massive blaze at Bronx Best Metal, a scrap metal yard on Edgewater Road that sent thick smoke across Hunts Point, officials said.

The FDNY said it received the call around 7:30 p.m. on Friday. More than two dozen units and about 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. No injuries were reported.

Crews were working for hours chasing stubborn hot spots and heavy smoke around the property.

“I saw it the first time when I was dropping off a U-Haul and the fire was raging,” said Edward Hudson, who stopped to watch from nearby. “I came back when they were putting it out. It was very big — I saw it from the highway.”

Police have Edgewater Road closed at Seneca Avenue as firefighters continue operations.
