Mayor speaks with community at Bronx church
Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the Mount Hermon Baptist Church this afternoon to address concerns within the community.
Mayor de Blasio says his primary concern is to bring the police and the community closer together. He also addressed how he plans to help provide more affordable housing especially to the elderly as they need more financial help living on a fixed income.
Some, however, say they wanted to hear the mayor's specific plans on affordable housing for the elderly.
The issue of housing is among the most important to the community, as many say it's a struggle to stay in their homes while rents keep rising.
