Although August is right around the corner, News 12 is highlighting the month of July and Fibroid Awareness Month. 
Fibroids are noncancerous growths similar to tumors of the uterus. 
They’re often the size of baseballs and all too commonly left untreated, though symptoms can be debilitating. 
News 12’s MaryLyn Buckley spoke to both a medical expert and survivor on the disease to learn more about the chronic condition that has affected women of color worldwide.
