A community resource center in the Bronx has expanded its services and added a must-have baby item to its shelves.
The HopeLine in Melrose is providing mothers in need with a free supply of diapers. It started the program back in February after learning that diapers weren't covered in many of its clients' benefits.
Since then, the non-profit has been handing out hundreds of diapers twice every month to women on government assistance. Each mother gets a two-week supply in the size that's right for their child.
The HopeLine currently serves more than 100 local families, but says it hopes that number can grow.
