A fire in a vacant four-story building in Melrose has displaced at least a dozen neighbors.
Fire officials say tenants from the Third Avenue building next door were evacuated as a safety measure.
The building's landlord says they were in the process of looking for renters for the property.
The Red Cross is providing accommodations for the displaced tenants for at least one night.
The FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire.
