Bronx middle school students are harvesting vegetable gardens to feed cancer patients in the borough.

Students from C.S. 55 helped harvest the fresh organic produce at the Bissel Gardens, the largest organic soil farm in the Bronx.

The nonprofit program Green Bronx Machine teaches children about the importance of healthy eating and giving back to their community.

With the help of 20 volunteers from Macy's, students helped fill bags with vegetables that will be distributed to cancer patients in need throughout the borough.
