Mom accuses day care teacher of abusing toddler
A Bronx mother says a teacher at Loyalty Day Care sexually abused her 3-year-old son last week.
"He tells me he's been touched by a teacher in the school," the mother told News 12.
She says she took her son to the hospital, where he repeated the story to officials. The child retold the same story to police.
Representatives from the Administration for Children's Services inspected the day care and implemented a safety plan.
The Department of Health says that the administration's Office of Special Investigations is handling the case.
The mother says that after the incident, she looked into the school on her own and found that the day care had six open violations -- including one alleging that the facility did not conduct background checks on its staff.
The director at Loyalty Day Care told News 12 that he was cooperating with investigators. He says the accused teacher still works at the facility, but does not have any direct contact with children.
For the mother who accused the school of sexual abuse, that isn't enough.
"I want the person who touched my son to be in jail," she said. "And I want that school to be shut down."
