A memorial service honoring the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 took place at the 41st Precinct in the Bronx.
Every officer across the city took part in a moment of silence on Wednesday during the service.
This year also raised awareness for the suffering of the hundreds of firefighters, police and first responders who have died or fell ill after dealing with the wreckage and toxic fumes at Ground Zero.
Dozens of victims' relatives also gathered at Jacobi Medical Center Wednesday to honor those from the Bronx who lost their lives on that tragic day.
