More than 100 new Americans naturalized
More than 100 immigrants from more than 30 countries became American citizens at a ceremony in the Bronx Thursday.
Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the ceremony, where the new citizens recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Among them was Davina Anderson, originally from Jamaica. As a member of the National Guard, she was one of seven military personnel naturalized.
"I joined to have a better life and better opportunities," Anderson said.
