Since early Monday morning, people have been lining up outside 345 Cypress Ave. asking to be allowed back into their building - some needing to pick up beloved pets and others, their daily medicine.

News 12 was able to get a bird's-eye view of the damage done to the building, as multiple holes pepper the roof.

The Red Cross says 96 people lost their home in the fire.

“The apartment is just wet, there’s waters dripping from the stairs it was disgusting," said Julia Marrow, who lives on the sixth floor.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
