Naturalization ceremony held at NY Public Library
Nearly 100 people, including many from the Bronx, became U.S. citizens Tuesday during a ceremony at the New York Public Library.
The group received their certificates of naturalization after months of studying. They represented more than 27 countries around the globe.
Some members of the group say they plan to become active in their communities and will proudly celebrate the Fourth of July as new citizens.
This was the second year that the library held the ceremony in its landmark midtown Manhattan building.
The ceremony coincides with the nation's 239th birthday.
