A brand-new floating dock on the Harlem River shoreline is offering easy access to the water for residents at Roberto Clemente State Park.
State Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner announced the $150,000 investment Wednesday. The investment is part of the $100 million renovation of the entirety of the part- completed earlier this year.
"Waterfront access is just such an invaluable amenity to have," said Joyner.
Officials say the park attracts over 1 million visitors yearly. They say now some of those families can enjoy the park's shoreline- along with the beautiful views the riverfront has to offer.
In order to use the dock for activities like canoeing or kayaking, you must get a permit from the Parks Department. This is to ensure safety measures.
A 5-mile 'No Wake Zone' is also in place for safety.
