New Yorkers can buy lottery tickets with a new smartphone app.
The Jackpocket app is free to download. It uses credit or debit card information to pay for tickets.
It allows users to buy tickets for six different lotteries. They include Mega Millions, Powerball, New York Lotto and Cash 4 Life.
In its first day, app users had more than $50,000 in winnings.
