A new job center in the Bronx is helping hundreds of residents connect with local employers.

America Works' brand new job center opened Wednesday at 424 E. 147th St. The company aims to help veterans, those on welfare, those with criminal records and homeless residents in the Bronx find employment.

Since March, America Works says it has helped place 300 residents in new jobs.

America Works says it hopes to help 20,000 residents with job training this year.
