A new study finds that New York City's sewer rats can catch coronavirus.
Scientists tested Brooklyn rats and found antibodies in them, meaning they were infected at one point. The strain they found was from early on in the pandemic.
They say theoretically, the virus could be transmitted from rats to people, but reports of that happening are extremely rare.
