A new veterans resource center opened in Fairfield today.
The resource center is located inside the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities on Mona Terrace.
The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs says it has had success with a resource center that recently opened in Stamford, so they are opening one in Fairfield.
The Stamford resource center officially opened last month.
The Stamford center is located at Stamford Old Town Hall on Atlantic Street.
It's open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The city says hours will be expanded over time to best meet the needs of the veterans and their families.
Both the centers' missions are to provide veterans with better access to government resources, programs, and community support services as well as an opportunity to engage with other veterans.
