A football legend showed his support on Saturday for an annual Bridgeport tradition.
Jerry Rice sent a recorded message to kick off the Charles Fuller Autism Walk at McLevy Green.
Fuller, who has autism, was the subject of an NFL Film that featured this annual event named in his honor.
Rice called the local autism advocate, "The Greatest of All Time".
"Charles, you're a G.O.A.T. I love how you continue giving back to the community," Rice said in his message. "We can learn a lot from Charles about never giving up, always giving 100% and striving to be great. So, from one G.O.A.T. to another G.O.A.T., have a great walk, Charles."
Fuller received proclamations from state and local leaders for promoting understanding during National Autism Awareness Month.
"It's very historic and I'll never forget this as long as I live," Fuller said.
