Nonprofit doles out healthy fruits and veggies
A Prospect Avenue program aims to pair Bronx residents with affordable fruits and vegetables.
The nonprofit Children's Aid Society launched its Go Healthy program two weeks ago at the Whitney Young Jr. campus.
The program feeds about 35 families each Wednesday with about eight different fruits and vegetables that vary on a weekly basis.
The food also includes a healthy recipe tailored to the week's selection.
The program is open to anyone who signs up a week ahead of time and runs until November.
