City Island is getting the brunt of the nor'easter Friday, as wind and heavy rain pelted the Bronx coastal community.
The whipping wind and heavy rain churned the waters off the coast causing concern for flooding in some areas.
Friday's storm is expected to intensify as the day goes on.
According to News 12  meteorologists, the rain could turn to snow by late afternoon into the evening.
Between 1 and 2 inches of wet, slushy snow are possible.
News 12 spoke with two construction workers who were braving the elements outside, and they say it’s just part of their job.
“As long as I stay working that's all that really matters," Daniel Esteve says.
His partner Cerrone Silvio had a similar positive attitude about working outdoors in the storm.
“Got to stay positive, or else you know, if you don't stay positive, it's going to be a rough time,” Silvio says.
