A new dog park opened Tuesday in the North Bronx.
Bronx Park Dog Run includes various areas for differently sized dogs, and 4-foot fences keep dogs contained.
The park, located at Boston Road & Bronx Park East, also includes benches for dog owners.
Using combined funding from the Mayor Bill de Blasio, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., and Councilmember Ritchie Torres, the total cost to build the park was $590,000.
“This is really an amazing asset to this community, says NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver. “They’ve been wanting it for well over five years and we’re glad we can provide this beautiful dog run for large dogs and small dogs.”
The drive to build the dog park came from the Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association.
