NY DREAM Act supporters end hunger strike
A group of undocumented students have ended their hunger strike against Gov. Andrew Cuomo's latest state budget proposal, which dropped funding by $27 million for the New York State DREAM Act.
After fasting for seven days, more than 50 participants broke bread and drank water at Judson Memorial Church on Tuesday. They say they are coming up with new plans to continue fighting for funding and resources.
The DREAM Act would allow specific undocumented high school students to be eligible for financial aid for college.
The "dreamers" say they are not going to stop until the Senate listens and undocumented students get the assistance they need to achieve their goals.
