Tenants of the New York City Housing Authority's Betances Houses on East 143rd Street say they're fed up with trash that's littering their grounds.
Longtime tenant Nancy says trash is a common sight throughout the building complex. Other residents say it often lingers for days or even a week.
They believe there aren't enough building workers assigned to handle the amount of garbage coming from the large complex.
Tenants also say the trash brings with it rats and other vermin.
News 12 did spot two NYCHA workers hauling away trash on Wednesday.
"Staff are working diligently today to address the garbage and trash," NYCHA said in a statement. "We appreciate our residents' patience as we work to provide the safe, clean communities they deserve."
