NYPD: 5-year-old boy found dead inside Belmont home

According to the NYPD, the boy was found at around 3 a.m. Sunday unconscious and unresponsive.

Police say a 5-year-old child found unresponsive in his Belmont home is dead.
According to the NYPD, the boy was found at around 3 a.m. Sunday unconscious and unresponsive inside an apartment building on Bassford Avenue.
Police sources tell News 12 the 5-year-old was in his bed at the time and there were no visible signs of any injuries. They also say the apartment was in bad shape and the family is known to the Administration for Children's Services.
The boy was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
