NYPD: Grandmother stabbed 7-year-old granddaughter multiple times inside Bronx home

The victim was found on her bed with stab wounds to the neck, stomach, and back. Her grandmother is in police custody at St. Barnabas Hospital at this time.

A 7-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition after being stabbed multiple times by her grandmother on Tuesday morning.  
Police say that the incident took place at around 8 a.m. at 1317 Clinton Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they found the little girl on her bed stabbed multiple times in the back, neck, and stomach. She was rushed to New York Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where she is fighting for her life.  
“You go to your family because they’re supposed to protect you…especially grandmas,” said William, who is a resident in the Morrisania neighborhood where the stabbing took place.
The girl’s grandmother is in custody at St. Barnabas Hospital, where she will undergo a psychiatric evaluation. No charges have been filed at this time.
