The NYPD is kicking off the "Summer All Out" initiative to help crack down on crime.

More than 300 officers will be pulled from their desk job positions and put in neighborhoods seeing the most crime and violence.

In the Bronx, more officers will be seen patrolling at least four precincts.

The officers taking part in the summer program will be assigned to work peak crime shifts from either 4 p.m. to midnight or midnight to 8 a.m. All new patrols will concentrate on public housing developments with the highest crime rates.

Statistics show citywide there have been 136 homicides since the start of the year, versus 113 this time last year. Mayor Bill de Blasio says the program, as well as other tactics, will help reduce crime.
