Crews were on the scene of an early morning barn fire in New Canaan Monday.
Officials say the fire broke out inside a barn on a residential property on Silvermine Road just around 5 a.m.
The barn was fully engulfed in flames as crews worked to contain it but say it's a total loss.
The barn was located 100 feet from a house on the property, officials say.
Officials say there are horses on the property but that no people or horses were injured in the blaze.
Silvermine Road at the intersection of Carter Street off Route 106 was temporarily blocked off to traffic while crews responded to the fire.
