Community officials in Mott Haven are working to restore the vacant lot where the historic P.S. 31 once stood.

News 12 was there in June as crews took down the landmark NYC building.

Officials are now accepting proposals to rebuild the site.

The new construction will be a mixed-income affordable housing complex, and the right candidate will have to incorporate elements from the old school into the new structure - including gargoyles and the P.S. 31 logo.
