Officials: Off-duty NYPD officer killed in Nassau County crash
Nassau County officials say an off-duty NYPD officer was killed on his way to work in Lynbrook this morning.
Police say Vincent Persaud, 31, was on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook just before 7 a.m. when his car collided with another vehicle near Hempstead Avenue.
Persaud's vehicle then went off the road. The other driver wasn't seriously hurt.
