Students from Our Lady of Refuge Elementary School visited the East Haven Nursing Home Wednesday to sing Christmas carols and spread holiday cheer.
The third-graders sang holiday songs, visited with the residents and handed out homemade holiday cards to the seniors.
“A lot of [the residents] have grandchildren, so this brings back reminiscent memories for them,” said Sophia Thomson, the nursing’s home recreation director. “The residents really really appreciate them for that.”
The children and seniors alike say they look forward every holiday season to the annual visit.
