Over 300 swimmers dive into Long Island Sound to raise money for cancer research

Over the past 15 years, the event has raised over $4.5 million.

Swim Across America held its 16th annual event in Fairfield on Saturday.
The swim took place in the Long Island Sound waters.
All the proceeds of the event go directly to supporting scientific cancer gene therapy research.
The event had close to 300 swimmers and 100 volunteers participating. 
Over the past 15 years, the event has raised over $4.5 million.
